All Lives Matter – ‘Protests’

his body
laid flat
against the
concrete ground,
for another life

Sharing a poem that I wrote. I was in the car a couple of weeks ago listening to one of the news station talk about the grand jury decision for the Michael Brown case and the shooting of the young boy in Cleveland, Tamir Rice and the uprise and debating the issue. The thought that “we [and I] can’t get “complacent among the routine of inequalites” just lingered in my heart. I know sometimes for me [who is pretty active and vocal :-)] it just seems that nothing will change and then I think about the courage and confidence and action that all before me had to muster up and this incites me. I am a journal’er and need to write things down for my own healing. So sharing to raise voices for Tamir Rice, Michael Brown and too many others that we have to name.
